Our boys travel great, the best that can be expected for a five and two year old. Perhaps, a fourteen hour van ride might not appeal to some folks, but for us, it is just what we need to do to drive home. As long as we have plenty of activities, food, drinks and snacks who wouldn't be happy?
Our family vacation was eleven days long, in that time we put over 2000 miles on our van, toured thru one city and three towns and saw all our our family plus most of our friends, minus our pals the Clements, next time though.
Our Webb Family Reunion turned out to be a complete success and we plan to make this a tradition every year. Grandpa Webb traveled all the way from Mesa to be there, it was great seeing him again. A family reunion was his idea in the first place, great idea Grandpa! It was a bit chilly and rainy, but completely refreshing from the heat and sunny place we come from. We had a yummy picnic, thanks to Grandma Webb and enjoy a family softball game. This activity was Tim's highlight of our vacation, it was fun to see everyone and see how much the Webb grandsons had grown since last time they played together. This October, Scott and Annie are changing our trend, they are having a girl, so we'll have a granddaughter to add to our now four grandsons.
Thanks to Grandma Webb, watching our boys over night and Brad (that has connections) we were able to have an over night date in Idaho Falls. We had a splendid time, taking a four hour bike ride thru some of Tim's old neighborhood as a boy and going to church in his old home ward. We took a tour of his library he went to often as a boy and teenager. We had lunch at "Scotty's Hamburgers" which is a place that has been there for forty years! We walked around the Idaho Falls Temple where we were married almost seven years ago and went to the Idaho Museum which is showing artifacts from the "Titanic", which was incredible and sobering, it was nice, we were able to read everything and take our time going thur (which is not always the case when we go to museums as a family).
We stay two more days in Pocatello, we saw Misty and her kids and met Tucker their newest boy. Our kids had a blast playing together. The time we did spend with Grandma Webb was nice, we met her bird Daisy, which we all enjoyed. We did go on another bike ride thru Pocatello and stop by all our favorite places there. Tim went up to ISU and saw his old work and co-workers. We drove by the hospital, but with the threat of Swine Flu and all the sicknesses, I didn't go in, for fear of getting sick during our vacation.
Words can not express the burden lifted when we drove from SLC up thru Idaho Falls and seeing Logan and Pocatello again. Tim felt it like I did, we just felt so calm and refreshed the whole time during our trip! It was wonderful to be home again!
