Update on Jay

It will be a month on the 27th that we found Jay (the parakette that we found perched on our backyard door). We have tried to find his owner, but have had no reply or responses, to our noticies that we put out. So we have decided to keep Jay as our pet. Jacob has done a great job taking care of him so far and he also named him Jay...after BlueJay (since he is blue). We enjoy his tweets in our home. We have his cage hung in our dining room and he has another hook outside on our porch in the backyard (his favorite place to be as he can communicate with the wild birds there). Yesterday, he was doing tricks for me, hanging upside down on his perch and moving through the branches of his cage. We are starting to see his personality and it is a shy, but fun one. We were having such a hard time choosing a pet, the boys, mainly Jacob really wanted one. But thankfully, it was decided for us. Jacob would still love a lizard, but for now Jay is doing the trick and we all love him. I was asked if the bird was a girl or a boy bird, I reply, "We only make hims here.".
